05 Find a friend in the same situation
During your job search you will meet an innumerable number of people – a few of them will be in exactly the same situation as you. Whether you are just beginning to think about career possibilities with your degree or are looking for a job after graduation, find someone who is making a similar transition and going through the same process as you.
Schedule a coffee or meet-up with this person every two weeks until you both have met your goals. During your meetings, do the following four things:
- Share any advice you have gotten.
- Review the people you have met and the events of the last two weeks.
- Compare notes on what mentor meetings or informational interviews have yielded.
- Hold each other accountable to your goals.
