13 Explore new surroundings

Stepping out of your surroundings can be a great way to get some perspective on your purpose.

  1. Decide if international work is right for you by accessing country and city career guides, job and internship listings and a key employer directory through GoinGlobal.
  2. Complete a U of T credit overseas through a three to six week summer abroad course.
  3. All students can work with the Centre for International Experience to explore opportunities to experience the world and earn credits.
  4. While you’re away and when you return, take time to reflect upon your experience. With a calm and quiet mind you will uncover important lessons that will dramatically influence your career search.
  5. Explore surroundings locally with In the Field, volunteer for a CLN posting or try the Centre for Community Partnerships.
